Holistic Therapy Can Heal and Calm Animals

holistic therapy
The owner of an aging horse has discovered that holistic therapy does a lot of good for the old animal. Travis, the horse, used to race a lot and he still has the drive to run for days. However, the 27-year-old horse has a frail body with many tumor that have put his running days to an end.
However, the owner, Stephani Kames, began to use the power of touch to try and heal Travis. "He likes this," Kames mentioned. Travis is currently at Fox Creek Stables in Lake Township, which is owned by Jill Kirsch.
Mrs. Kames gently touches Travis with tuning forks so that they vibrate and tingle on his chest, back and ears. This causes the horse to lower his head, become flatulent, and release the tension from his lips. Kames believes that this behavior means that Travis has found harmony.
Carol Komitor, the founder and director of Komitor Healing Methods, teaches holistic therapy methods that involve touch and she recently held a class at Fox Creek to demonstrate how pet owners can heal and calm their pets with these techniques. This 4 level program is called Healing Touch for Animals, and using tuning forks is just one of the many methods that are taught.
"When you keep the energy system in balance it allows for a deep relaxation to come in, and when we're relaxed - whether it is people or animals - it allows for correct physiology," Komitor mentioned. She previously was a veterinary technician.
Komitor also mentioned that holistic therapy can help provide treatment for general illnesses, allow for effective training, decrease anxiety and behavioral issues and maintain the immune system in various animals.

Jamaicans Have a Unique Outlook on Holistic Healing

holistic healing
Holistic healing deals with much more than just a system of treatment, as it also requires for a practitioner to understand the feelings of a human being. It also involves a spiritual bond between a human being and mother earth.
These practices have been commonplace in Jamaica for quite some time now. Before advances in medicine had reached the country, citizens used their inner strength in combination with limited resources in order to heal the sick. As of now, there is a lot more knowledge and resources as a result of science and technology. However, Jamaicans are still strong advocates of using faith and belief to heal others.
Alternative medicine is not necessarily a new thing, since such treatments and techniques have been practiced in Eastern nations for over five thousand years. Although its popularity continues to grow around the world, it still has a long way to go. Many people still prefer traditional treatments and regular pharmaceuticals because physicians who specialize in them are much more available. Hopefully, in due time, some of the positive attitudes that are coming from Jamaica can help change some stubborn minds and more doctors will start promoting the use of holistic healing methods.

Homeopathic Treatment Might Be A Good Substitute For OTC Medicines

homeopathic treatment
Just recently it was announced by major manufacturers of OTC infant cough and cold medications that they were going to remove their products from store shelves because they are worried that some might not use them correctly. Following this, mothers across the nation started speaking their minds on websites like pregnancyweekly.com.
"That is ridiculous!" a user named GenvieveK said. "What are we supposed to give our babies to make them feel better??"
"Holy cow," Danetta2357314 said with a shocked tone, "I should have bought some before they took it off the market ... and besides, can people not read labels? HELLO."
These mothers were not only angry, but frustrated with the fact that others who misuse medications are the ones ruining it for everyone who uses them properly. As a result of all the commotion, some users on pregnancyweekly.com began brainstorming ideas that involve homeopathic treatment. A user with the handle "Meg and Jo" provided some much needed advice to these mad mothers.
"Go to your local health food store and buy a homeopathic remedy. Oftentimes they work better than the OTC stuff," Meg and Jo mentioned. However, if you do plan on taking Meg and Jo's advice, be sure to speak with your physician before giving any homeopathic treatment or remedy to your child.

More Fundamentals of Homeopathic Medicine

homeopathic medicine
Homeopathic medicine is used very commonly to treat sicknesses and diseases, sometimes almost as commonly as traditional medicine. Several doctors have doubts about homeopathy, claiming that a lot of the treatments have a placebo effect on a person, rather than actually treating them. However, there are many others that believe that homeopathic remedies are some of the most effective ones available and many have chose to use them for several years.
Homeopathic medicine has existed for several hundred years, and it has a very simple foundation that it is based upon. Homeopathy, once again, uses the "law of similars" to help treat a sickness or ailment. Consider two different illnesses that have the same symptoms; homeopathy would suggest to take a substance that causes one of the sicknesses to use it to cure the other one. This also involves the use of only one medicine to help treat every symptom, instead of several different ones being taken at once.
The traditional practitioner of medicine is a firm believer that the organs in the body are what are causing the sickness and that the symptoms can be taken care of with various types of treatment. On the other hand, homeopathy believes that conventional medicine is simply a way of suppressing the symptoms instead of actually treating them. Homeopathic medicine, in some ways, makes the body work a little harder in order to cure the sickness, so that it will have the strength that it needs to stay healthy in the future.

Big Plans For a Holistic Healing Institute in Virginia

holistic healing
The Cobb Island Station in Virginia now has a new owner, which is the World Healing Institute. This organization is nonprofit and it helps kids who are dealing with physical and emotional changes in their lives. This also includes recovery from face surgeries as well as dealing with special needs. The institute purchased the property from The Nature Conservancy last year with a price tag of 4.1 million dollars.
The institute rented the property between the years of 2004 and 2006 and it recently acquired Annie Hess as the center coordinator. Annie's husband, Elvin, has also been hired on to be the environmental services coordinator. The couple chose to sell their Yellow Duck Bakery and relocate to this area to work at the institute.
"WHI believes that people, especially children, can develop more effectively using holistic approaches offered in natural environments," mentioned Alletta Bell, the founder and board president of the institute.
The executive director of the institute, Patrick Linton, recently mentioned that the organization will hopefully know what they will use the building for by next spring.
"We're sort of just re-gearing," Linton mentioned, adding that the institute could provide programs that help surgical healing and even some camps that will benefit kids who have special needs.
"That's still part of what we're thinking through," Linton stated. "We typically work with progressive ideas, working with different developments and healing techniques that are established but applying them in creative and beneficial ways to children."
The institute's web site mentioned that the group provides "holistic healing opportunities in beautiful natural environments" for kids by working in part with other medical institutions, healing experts and agencies that specialize in humanitarian aid.

Breaking Down Homeopathic Medicine

homeopathic medicine
In simple terms, homeopathic medicine works using a "law of similars." This means that symptoms of a disease are used to help treat that particular sickness or ailment. It may sound like a confusing approach but more and more people each day are favoring these methods.
Traditional forms of medicine use chemicals and drugs to fight off the bacteria and germs that are producing the symptoms. On the other hand, homeopathic remedies look at these symptoms as the body's way of working against the sickness. Symptoms are seen as evidence that the body is properly fighting against the problem in attempt to treat it. Therefore, homeopathy practices the exposure of the symptoms to the body rather than the containment of them.
However, keep in mind that using homeopathic treatment can initially feel like no progress is being made at all. These treatments first work with the mental symptoms that result from the sickness, and then move on to the physical complications. The reason that some people are skeptical about these methods is the fact that they take a completely different approach than traditional ones do.
There are many things to keep in mind when using homeopathic medicine as well, such as what foods and drinks to avoid during treatment. Also, it is urged for patients to stop the treatment once the problem or sickness has disappeared. It is strongly advised to speak with a professional or a homeopathic doctor before trying any treatment, because some methods may not be suitable for your body.

Homeopathic Remedies For Children Who Are Teething

homeopathic remedies
For a parent, it can be difficult to watch your child in pain as he or she is teething. However, as a parent you must also be cautious about the type of treatment that you give your child to help the problem. One option that you may want to consider is the use of old-fashioned homeopathic remedies.
It appears that a lot of parents are not happy with the idea of using chemical treatment for children that are teething. It is not worth taking any risks and the possibility of side-effects can be a scary thing. Teething rings and other similar products also seem to be avoided by many parents due to the fact that there are some chemical substances that are used during the manufacturing process.
One of the old-fashioned teething remedies that does not appear to be dangerous is the use of a damp rag or cloth. This is done by soaking a small piece of cloth in cold water and allowing the child to suck on it. The cold water also works effectively for numbing the gums, and the child's sucking action can help get rid of some of the pain. Not only is this an inexpensive method, but it is also known to have good results.
Another well-known home remedy involves the use of bread. Like the damp cloth, the bread is something soft for the baby to chew on which can help reduce some of the discomfort that he or she is feeling. The kinds that have the best results are usually whole meal breads. Please be cautious however, and make sure that the bread is somewhat hard because if it is too soft then it can disintegrate and possibly cause the child to choke. Be sure to always monitor your child when he or she is chewing on something, and speak with your doctor before trying any homeopathic remedies.

A Close Look At The Power Of Holistic Healing For Asthma Patients

holistic healing
Other types of nontraditional asthma treatments can range anywhere from breathing techniques to herbal treatments. There is not a whole lot of information about the effectiveness of holistic healing, but it appears that a lot of people are advocating the use of it.
One of the popular choices for treating asthma through use of homeopathy includes breathing exercises. These are said to help improve one's well-being and general quality of life, as well as help lower the common symptoms of asthma. Also, a major goal is to lessen how much medication is required in order to prevent future attacks. 2 different breathing exercises that have been looked at closely are described below.
The Buteyko breathing method, which was created in the 1950's, was administered to asthma patients in the former Soviet Union. Recently, this breathing technique has become popular in other parts of the world. The method is designed to make you actually breathe less, which can help prevent hyperventilation. The Buteyko technique also promotes natural relaxation, stress relief, medicinal treatment and proper nutrition.
The other technique, the Papworth method, is a relaxation exercise that encourages patients to breathe deep from within their bellies, which is also known as diaphragmatic breathing. This is done in combination with nose breathing and breath matching. There is a significant amount of evidence that suggests that this method helps treat asthma symptoms as well. Remember to always speak with a professional before trying a new method or treatment.

A New Homeopathic Remedy For Treating Insect Bites

homeopathic remedy
There is a new product on the market known as Bitecare Gel, which is a homeopathic remedy for treating bug bites. This product costs $5.90 for a tube that contains 1.5 ounces of gel. The main ingredients in this product are Calendula officinalis, Echinacea angustifolia and Ledum palustre.
Bitecare Gel uses the power of Calendula, which happens to be a marigold plant, and it is said that this particular plant makes the healing process go by much faster. Echinacea is used to decrease the amount of skin inflammation that results from an insect bite. Ledum, which is an evergreen shrub, is said to reduce the pain and itching that results from these types of bites.
This product was tested on sufferers of breast cancer who were being given radiation therapy, and it is suggested that the calendula plant can be used to avoid skin irritation when it is extracted into an ointment. According to the National Institutes of Health, Calendula also helped reduce redness and pain that sufferers experienced.
However, one must also be aware of some of the negative aspects of a new product. Science has shown that plants like echinacea and ledum may cause allergic reactions for some individuals. These individuals include people who have allergies related to marigold plants and other natural plant remedies.
It is always recommended to speak with a professional before trying any homeopathic remedy or treatment.

Treat Your Ailments Naturally With Homeopathic Medicine

homeopathic medicine
The next time you are about to fill a prescription for an illness, you might want to consider some of the natural options that are out there. Supplements such as fiber, vitamins, antioxidants, herbs, bread, eggs and teas are enriched with substances that your body can certainly benefit from. As more and more people hear about homeopathic medicine flooding the market, the more popular it becomes.
During May of this year, the government of Canada installed another set of rules within the Natural Health Sector, which is specifically geared towards natural treatments, homeopathic medicine, vitamins, herbs and particular teas. This new set of rules allows medicine to work more cooperatively with Natural Health Products while also making it necessary for manufacturers to properly label bottles that contains homeopathic substances. This new system helps reinforce the idea that homeopathic medicine can be successfully used to treat common ailments and illnesses.
This large increase of popularity in the market of homeopathic remedies appears to result from the public's concern for making responsible decisions in regards to personal health. However, anyone who has an interest in homeopathic medicine is strongly recommended to speak with a professional physician before using any products or supplements.
